Any 501(c)3 non-profit organization involved in animal welfare and/or nature preservation/conservancy may apply to receive a grant from Fringe Benefits Thrift Store (organizations under the advanced ruling period will be considered). All grant applications are reviewed by the Fringe Benefits Board of Directors.
Grant applications are only accepted between January 1 – March 31 of the year that funding would be granted. The applicaton must be submitted during those dates to be considered to receive a grant that year. All applicants must include detailed financial statements for the current and most recently completed fiscal year. All grant applications are reviewed by the Fringe Benefits Board of Directors and this process can take up to 3 months.
The application period opens each year January 1st through March 31st. We receive multiple applications each year and disperse funding to as many organizations as possible. If you have questions concerning our grant application process please contact us.
Although she is no longer with us, Ruth’s spirit is present in the work that we do. She continues to be a guardian for our animal friends. Without her, Fringe Benefits would not be what it is today. We are forever grateful for her generosity, creativity, wit, life lessons and love!
Rudy's Fund is generated by private donations as well as special events and fundraisers hosted by Fringe Benefits and other supporters. It is available to 501(c)3 humane programs and organizations that are local, national or worldwide with an animal(s) in special need or for emergency situations where funding may need to be expedited.
Funding through Rudy's Fund is available without going through the application process. A letter of inquiry must be submitted and must specify the need for funding. Grants through Rudy's Fund are given in increments of up to $500 (exceptions may be made) and must be used to relieve suffering among an animal(s) or to alleviate a hardship for a program or organization due to an emergency and unforeseen situation, such as a natural disaster, repair or replace equipment, etc.
